Who We Are
It is said, that the heart of the home is the kitchen. At the Ronald McDonald House Long Island, that couldn’t be more true...
Welcome to our Kitchen!
What We Do
Through our Meals from the Heart program, volunteer groups provide either a brunch or dinner for the families staying at the House. Volunteers select a menu, purchase all of the ingredients, bring everything with them on the day of their visit, and then prepare and serve the meal in our kitchen.
By taking care of the planning, shopping, and cooking, volunteers provide families with one less thing to worry about during a difficult time. As families return from the hospital or gather together for a meal, they are welcomed by the comforting smells of a home-cooked meal and the kindness of a community that cares.
This group opportunity creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere where families can relax, connect, and enjoy time together. Every meal served helps make the House feel more like home and reminds families that they are surrounded by support during their child's medical journey.
