Volunteer: Meals from the Heart - Brunch Program <3

It is said, that the heart of the home is the kitchen –

Welcome to our Kitchen!

Each morning, as families prepare for their hospital visits, dedicated volunteers have the unique opportunity to prepare a  nourishing meal in our fully-equipped kitchen. This act of kindness not only starts the day off right for our families but also provides the much-needed energy to face the challenges of a hospital visit. By preparing brunch, you are not just connecting with families, but also making a significant difference in a child’s life.

❤  Brunch is served from 11:00 am. The earliest you may arrive at the house is 9:30 am.

❤  The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils and instruments.

❤  We ask that you provide the ingredients and the cooking experts!

Please take a moment to review our guidelines here.

Sign up is Easy

❤  We are asking for a maximum 12 volunteers (16 and older) to come to cook dinner per shift.

Note: If you are under the age of 18 you MUST be accompanied by an adult

❤  The team leader is required to sign up to reserve the date/shift. Enter the team name on sign-up sheet and the total  number of participants.

❤  If a scheduling conflict arises or you need to cancel your cooking date, please cancel online at least 7 days prior to your reservation, using the link in your confirmation email.  In addition, please send an email to lcabble@rmhcnym.org notifying us directly of your cancellation.

❤  Please Note:  If you cancel your reserved date but would still like to support our families, please feel free to send a catered meal. We are happy to provide a list of local restaurants that can provide meals to the House.

Meals from Heart: Dinner

It is said, that the heart of the home is the kitchen –

Welcome to our Kitchen!

Every evening, as families return from their exhausting hospital visits, dedicated volunteers step in to prepare a comforting, hot meal in our well-equipped kitchen. This act of service not only provides a much-needed break for the families but also creates a warm, familial atmosphere. These dinners are a powerful way to forge connections with families and truly make a difference in a child's life.

❤  Dinner is served daily at 6:00pm. Please arrive no earlier than 3:00 p.m. to start prepping. You can expect to leave around 6:30 p.m. after clean-up.

❤  A week before your scheduled volunteer shift, one of our team members will reach out to confirm the registration and to discuss your menu selection, making the process smooth and efficient.

❤  At this time, we will provide you with an approximate headcount of families to use for your shopping list needs. Please bring individual containers for each meal.

❤  The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils and instruments.

❤  We ask that you provide the ingredients and the cooking experts!
